VISITOR ATTRACTIONS

HADRIAN'S WALL - Follow the Hadrians Wall through the heart of Gilsland. Birdoswald Roman Fort, Vindolanda Roman Army Museum, Walltown Crags and Quarry and Cawfields are all close by.
THE SPA - Gilsland's famous mineral waters, once rumoured to contain medicinal properties.
THE GHOST - A ghost known as the 'Gilsland Boy' who manifests itself near the Roman Wall.
CRAMEL LINN WATERFALL - Situated about a mile and a half up the River Irthing.
CHURCHES - Visit Anglo-Saxon, Medieval or Victorian churches in the area.
CASTLES - Naworth Castle, Triermain Castle, Thirlwall Castle, Blenkinsopp Castle
